How did you feel when you had to start looking for an engagement ring?
I was excited about looking for a ring but I also knew right away that I wanted a bespoke ring and that I just had to find someone I could work with to do that. I also knew that I wanted that person to be based in Cornwall, a place which is special to both myself and my partner.
How did you hear about Stephanie Stevens Jewellery?
It was a simple Google search for ‘bespoke rings in Cornwall’. I came across a few websites but could tell right away from Steph’s website that she was not only a skilled jeweller but clearly put a lot of thought into the journey of taking a ring from an idea to reality.
Why was it important for you to have a bespoke ring?
My primary reason was to create something unique that nobody else could have. Something that my partner would know was only for her. The idea of supporting an independent jeweller was important to me as I knew this would result in a ring which is unique rather than mass produced. Being bespoke I could specify the things that were important and not settle on something which might not feature everything I wanted in a ring.
Main reason you chose Stephanie to design and make your ring?
It was clear from first meeting online that Steph was easy to work with. She took the time to understand what I wanted and no questions are too much trouble. Her dedication to her clients was apparent and I felt like no question or requests were too much trouble.
What was it like receiving the photos of your ring being made and how did it make you feel?
Receiving photos and updates along the journey of it being made was truly exciting. It built suspense and oddly when it finally arrived, having looked at the photos so much it felt familiar. Prior to it arriving I would spend time looking at photos carefully and took great fun in knowing that my partner was non the wiser.
Your favourite part of the journey?
My favourite part of the journey was proposing and seeing my partner’s reaction. The fact the ring was bespoke for us just made it even more special for her.
Any tips you can give to partners looking for an engagement ring?
Getting Stephanie to make you a ring will just add an extra layer of significance to your proposal and the ring will mean a lot more to both of you than had you just bought one from a chain.
Tell us about the proposal :-)
The lockdown meant my original plans of a lovely romantic weekend away were scuppered. I had to come with a plan B and opted on creating a video of all our memories and then some instructions on where she had to find me in the house after finishing the video. It was a massive surprise and I couldn’t wait for her to say yes and then for me to reveal that the ring was bespoke.
How does it feel now you have your dream ring?
Words cannot express how I truly feel, but to put it into some context - I’m marrying my soulmate who understands me better than I do, and he understood what exactly I wanted and needed the ring to look like, to represent and to be. It’s absolutely stunning, exquisite and beautiful. - Beckie
What does your ring mean to you?
It’s more than a ring, it’s part of him and it’s part of me and that’s shown in what has been created. The love and care that has also gone into producing it is very clearly shown in the attention to detail and it’s beauty. - Beckie
Any other comments?
Just a massive thank you to Steph for making the ring of my dreams and for it meaning so much more. - Beckie
A Big Congratulations
